Hello,
Welcome to Ohm City! Today you visit three companies: Respawn Games, DRIP Streetwear and Backbone IT. Every company has six floors, one for each department.
Your visitor pass (Besucherausweis) has six clues. Each clue leads you to one floor, and there you collect a stamp with one letter (Buchstabe). Six stamps make a code word for your workbook.
At the end, you choose the three internship places you like best.

Six clues, six stamps
A clue (Hinweis) describes some work in a company. Find the floor where this work happens. There you get a stamp (Stempel) with one letter: write it on paper, too. The six letters make a code word for the top of your workbook.
- Clue 1RESPAWN games.
The app stores pay Respawn six weeks late. The team still needs its salaries (Gehälter) on time. Which department pays the salaries and plans the money?

Hello, and welcome to Respawn Games! I'm Mika Torres. Jan Berger and I started this studio four years ago, and our best-known game is Pixel Quest.
About 500,000 people play our games every month. Downloading them is free, and about one player in ten buys small extras in the game. The app stores collect this money and pay us six weeks after the month ends.

Mika and Jan decide which games we build, how much money each project gets and when a game comes out. When two departments disagree, for example about a release date, they make the final decision. They also talk to banks and to companies that want to work with us.

Marketing makes sure players find our games and want to play them. The team plans posts and trailers, works with streamers and reads the reviews in the app store. Right now it is planning the launch campaign for Pixel Quest 2.

Hey, welcome to DRIP Streetwear! I'm Leyla Arslan. I sold our first sneakers from my bedroom, and today we are 20 people.
We sell in drops: a new sneaker model goes online at 8 p.m., for 119 euros a pair. For every drop, we order 400 pairs from our producer, and on a good evening all pairs are sold within a few hours. Customers send back every fourth pair.

Six floors in Ohm City have an internship place, two in each company. Here are all six. Open the job advert (Stellenanzeige) of every place that sounds good to you: it tells you what the team needs and what you do in the two days of your internship. Then choose the three places you like best and put them in order: wish 1 is the place you want most.
RESPAWN games.HR
with LisaIntern for our HR officeTwo days at Lisa's desk: help us decide who gets the job interviews.
We need a new junior developer, and 340 people applied. Lisa runs our HR office on her own, and Mika, one of our founders, wants a piece of software to choose the applicants for us. Before Friday's meeting, Lisa needs a rule: who decides, a person or the software? We are looking for an intern who helps her find a good answer.
- Day 1: At Lisa's desk. You learn how HR chooses new staff, do the pre-selection (Vorauswahl) for four real applications and find out how a screening tool (software that sorts applications) decides.
- Day 2: Test the tool, then decide. You check the tool with numbers, test it in a simulator, write Respawn's rule and present it to your classmates.
RESPAWN games.Development & IT
with KaiIntern for our development teamTwo days with Kai: plan a busy week and check an AI tool that writes code.
Pixel Quest 2 launches in six weeks, and the team has more tickets than hours. Kai, our lead developer, wants to try AutoDev, an AI assistant that writes code, and Emre, our youngest developer, is worried about it. We are looking for an intern who helps Kai plan the week and check the tool with real numbers.
- Day 1: At Kai's desk. You plan a real week of work with the team's rule for which ticket comes first, decide about a difficult ticket and find out what a study says about AI coding tools.
- Day 2: Faster, or slower? You check AutoDev with numbers, test it in a simulator, write the team's rule and present it to your classmates.
DRIP streetwear.Marketing
with NeleIntern for our marketing teamTwo days with Nele: plan a drop campaign and decide about AI product photos.
Our next drop is the DRIP Runner 2. Leyla, our founder, wants AI pictures from a tool called ShotGen instead of a photo shoot, and Nele worries that our customers will stop trusting us. We are looking for an intern who helps Nele plan the campaign and check the idea with real numbers.
- Day 1: At Nele's desk. You measure three campaign options with real numbers, choose the best plan and find out how an AI image generator works.
- Day 2: Cheaper pictures, but at what cost? You check ShotGen with numbers, test it in a simulator, write DRIP's rule for product pictures and present it to your classmates.
DRIP streetwear.Sales
with SvenIntern for our sales teamTwo days with Sven: write offers for sneaker shops and decide about prices that change during a drop.
After our last drop, resellers (people who buy to sell again) sold our sneakers for €200 a pair. Sven wants to try PriceBot, a tool that changes the price while people are buying, and our customer Malik is worried. We are looking for an intern who writes offers with Sven and checks PriceBot with real numbers.
- Day 1: At Sven's desk. You read the team chat after a drop, write offers for three sneaker shops, find a mistake in a draft offer and find out how dynamic pricing (prices that change while people buy) works.
- Day 2: Same shoe, new price? You check PriceBot with numbers, test it in a simulator, write DRIP's price rule and present it to your classmates.
BACKBONE IT.Management
with SandraIntern for our management teamTwo days with Sandra: compare three options with a decision matrix and decide who answers the phone at night.
We promise every customer help within one hour, even at night, and our technicians are tired. An AI voice agent called CallMate could take the night calls, but a doctor worries about her patients' data. We are looking for an intern who helps Sandra compare the options and make a decision she can defend.
- Day 1: At Sandra's desk. You read a letter from the works council (Betriebsrat) and an email from a doctor, compare three options in a decision matrix (Entscheidungsmatrix) and find out how an AI voice agent works.
- Day 2: Whose weights count? You check CallMate with numbers, test the weights (Gewichtung) in a simulator, write Backbone's decision for the night calls and present it to your classmates.
BACKBONE IT.Finance
with AmaraIntern for our finance teamTwo days with Amara: check real invoices (Rechnungen) and decide when a machine may pay on its own.
About 180 invoices arrive every month, and we check each one by hand. Amara wants to try PayFlow, a tool that pays invoices on its own, and a fake email with new bank details almost got our money. We are looking for an intern who checks invoices with Amara and tests PayFlow with real numbers.
- Day 1: At Amara's desk. You read the minutes (Protokoll) of the team meeting, compare four invoices with the order and the delivery note (Lieferschein) and find out how PayFlow and a real fraud case work.
- Day 2: Who pays when it goes wrong? You check PayFlow with numbers, test the payment limit in a simulator, write Backbone's payment rule and present it to your classmates.
- Download your workbook for today and open it.Download your workbook for todayThe file lands in your Downloads folder.
- At the top, write the code word from your visitor pass: the six letters of your stamps, in order.
- Wish 1, wish 2 and wish 3: for each wish, tick one internship place. Choose a different place for each wish.
- Under each wish, write one sentence: Why do you want this place? Use one fact from its floor or its job advert, for example a problem the team has right now.Help: “I want to work in (department) at (company), because (one fact from its floor or its job advert).” Example: “I want to work in Sales at DRIP Streetwear, because sneaker stores in other cities order from DRIP, and I would like to write their offers.”
- Save your workbook.
Check your workbook
- Click “Choose my workbook” and choose the file you saved.
- If the code word or a wish still needs something, the page tells you what. Add it, save the file and choose it here again.
Thank you for your visit to Ohm City! Your three wishes are in your workbook now. Keep the file, and tell Ms Borgwardt your wish 1.
